Gavin was having some trouble breathing during the middle of the night so the nurse brought him to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) to help him get a little more air and have a doctor take a look at him. Dr. Jay found that he had a blockage in one of his nasal passages.
Later in the morning, Gavin was examined by Dr. Cramer (Nose, Ear, and Throat Specialist). Dr. Cramer found that Gavin had polyps in his nasal passages making it hard for him to get air. He prescribed a nasal spray and steriod to take care of the polyps. He will be on the medication for 5 days. There's lots of tubes helping him to breath and monitoring his vitals. They look kinda scary but they are all there to help make him better. Gavin is getting great care - he has a nurse with him at all times. The nurses are great and know every little detail going on with Gavin.
